LAB TESTS

I am a functional nutritionist, which means that I am trained to restore balance using the tools and knowledge of advanced laboratory testing to determine deeper issues, and targeted specialized supplementation to promote healing.

TESTS AVAILABLE

Comprehensive digestive stool analysis / Microbiome analysis

Food Sensitivity Test

Female cycling hormone panel

Male hormone panel

Menopausal hormones and bone health

Micronutrient panel (Organic Acids test)

All tests can be done from home and just require you to order and send back the results to the laboratory in the UK (US for the female cycling hormone panel and male hormone panel).

COMPREHENSIVE DIGESTIVE STOOL ANALYSIS

Anker 1

The integrity of the gut and digestive tract is often the first place to start in a functional medicine approach to healing the body. GI imbalance can lead to Crohn’s, Ulcerative Colitis, IBS, and a range of diseases beyond the digestive tract including diabetes, obesity, rheumatoid arthritis, hormonal imbalance, depression and chronic fatigue syndrome and more. It is important to identify the root cause of any intestinal stress in order to apply the appropriate intervention.

The stool test I am working with uses quantitative real - time PCR (qRT-PCR) and enzyme - linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to provide an accurate, reliable and quantifiable measurement of microbiota abundance and host inflammatory markers.

This test measures h.pylori, gluten sensitivity, inflammation markers, digestive capacity, parasites, and gives an overview of the “good” and “bad” bacteria present that can help detect very early stages of rheumatoid arthritis, colon cancer, or other auto - immune diseases.

DO YOU NEED THIS TEST?
I recommend this test to anyone presenting with digestive distress like gas, bloating, reflux, diarrhea, constipation, loose stools, hemorrhoids, blood in stool, clay colored stools, bad breath. To evaluate if this test is right for you, schedule a free consultation call to discuss.

FOOD SENSITIVITY TEST

Anker 2

Food sensitivities affect more than 100 million people worldwide. Food sensitivities cause a range of illness and symptoms, including skin rashes and chronic intestinal diseases.

The FIT Test measures sensitivities to up to 132 or 176 different foods and additives spanning all major food groups.

The FIT Test is a patented, multi - pathway delayed food sensitivity test. The test uses new technology that measures both IgG and Immune Complexes, the most common food - related pathways in the body. The FIT test is the most sensitive test on the market because it is the only test that simultaneously measures both IgG (1-4) plus Complement (C3d) bound to immune complexes which results in a test that generates two signals: one signal for the IgG plus one signal for the IC - C3d. Since both signals are measured simultaneously, the net result is twice the signal. By comparison, other tests measure only IgG which results in generating only one signal. It is easy to understand that a test which generates two combined signals is more sensitive than a test that generates only one signal.

DO YOU NEED THIS TEST?

I recommend this test to anyone struggling with skin disorders, digestive disorders, low energy, respiratory disorders, seasonal allergies, musculoskeletal health and psychological wellbeing. To evaluate if this test is right for you, schedule a free consultation call to discuss.

FEMALE CYCLING HORMONE PANEL

Anker 3

The cycling Female Hormone Panel is a simple, noninvasive test that measures 11 saliva samples that are gathered at specific time points throughout one complete menstrual cycle. The FHP provides a dynamic mapping of the active levels of
Estradiol (E2) and Progesterone (P). In addition, the cycle average of testosterone and DHEA are measured. Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH) to deliver greater depth and insight to your test results.

Why choose a Female Hormone Panel?

  • Accuracy: research has demonstrated that the free hormone fraction predominates in saliva. In the blood, hormones can be found free or bound to proteins. The free hormone fraction is very important, because it is the bioactive fraction that most significantly influences living cells. One or two blood tests or a 24- hour analysis of urine for these hormones gives only a glimpse of the ovaries’ hormonal productivity

  • Chronobiology: view ovarian capacity in a single snapshot reading, a paired comparative reading, or over a complete menstrual cycle.

  • Flexibility: salivary testing enables measurements throughout your entire cycle to provide a more comprehensive look at hormone levels without the complication of blood draws

  • Simplicity: collection is noninvasive and painless

  • Convenience: saliva samples can be conveniently collected from your home, office or other location. Requires no blood draws, therefore no repeat clinic visits.

DO YOU NEED THIS TEST?

I would recommend this test if you are experiencing any of the below symptoms:

  • Irregular or painful periods

  • Infertility or miscarriage

  • Premenstrual syndrome (mood changes, breast tenderness, water retention, uterine cramping)

  • Low libido

  • Facial hair growth

  • Acne

  • Migraines

MALE HORMONE PANEL

Anker 4

The Male Hormone Panel from DiagnosTechs is a conveniently collected panel thatprovides information to begin restoring vitality, well-being, and passion for life. Sevendifferent hormone levels are measured to display a comprehensive picture of malehormonal balance. The Expanded Male Hormone Panel adds a measurement forfollicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone for additional data points.Information about your hormone levels can be valuable when evaluating forconditions related to infertility, sexual dysfunction, and andropause—an age-relateddecline in male hormone levels.

DO YOU NEED THIS TEST?

I recommend this test if you are struggling with any of the below symptoms:

  • Decreased libido

  • Erectile dysfunction

  • Sleep disorders

  • Decreased muscle mass and strength

  • General fatigue/decreased energy

  • Increased risk for coronary artery disease or heart attack

  • Hair loss or thinning

  • Increased fat accumulation

  • Urinary problems

  • Decreased bone density or osteoporosis

  • Compromised immune function

  • Irritability and depression

MENOPAUSAL HORMONE PANEL

Anker 5

Gain insight into hormone levels with this single snapshot which gauges amounts of unbound hormone in relation to our reference ranges. Measures estrone, estradiol, estriol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA and DHEA-S

MICRONUTRIENT PANEL

Anker 6

The Organic Acids Test (OAT) evaluates yeast (candida) and bacterial overgrowth, vitamin and antioxidant levels, fatty acid metabolism, neurotransmitter levels, oxalates, mitochondrial function, oxidative stress, detoxification and muchmore. Organic acidsare the by-products of human cellular activity, the digestion of foods and themetabolism of gastrointestinal flora. They are analysed in urine rather than bloodserum because they are not extensively reabsorbed in the kidney tubules afterglomerular filtration. Subsequent dietary and supplemental interventions following an OAT assessment have led to a number of reported improvements by patients andpractitioners including reduced fatigue, improved energy, better concentration anddecreased gastrointestinal symptoms. For this reason, organic acid testing is stronglyrecommended as an initial clinical screening tool.

DO YOU NEED THIS TEST?

The OAT is strongly recommended as the initial screening test.
